Our goal:
Department of International Law and Human Rights is one of the leading departments of the university, which conducts educational and research work on the "International Public Law", "International Criminal Law", "International Human Rights", "EU Law", "Islamic Law", "Diplomatic and Consular Law", "World Trade Organization Law", "Law of International Organizations".
We aim to study in depth the study of international public law and human rights, as well as the training of highly qualified legal personnel on the basis of a comparative study of the legal systems of national and foreign countries. We are currently cooperating with the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Center for Human Rights, the Prosecutor General's Academy, the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, law enforcement agencies and higher education institutions of the Republic.
Our tasks:
Our department supports the research work carried out at the university and performs a number of tasks:
- Conduct research and impart knowledge in disciplines: "International Public Law", "International Criminal Law", "International Human Rights", "EU Law", "Islamic Law", "Diplomatic and Consular Law", "World Trade Organization Law", "Law of International Organizations";
- Systematic organization of exchange of professors and students and internships with leading higher education institutions of foreign countries for the purpose of comparative study of foreign law and legal systems;
- development of students' skills of comparative, analytical and logical thinking on international law;
- formation of students' skills of practical application of the rules of procedural law;
- Participation in the development of draft regulations on constitutional, civil, administrative, criminal, criminal procedure and other areas of law;

Scientific potential of the department:
On measures to increase scientific capacity (preparation and defense of doctoral dissertations (PhD, DSc)):
1. Professor Yuldasheva Govkherjan defended her dissertation on "Formation and development of consular law in the Republic of Uzbekistan" for the degree of Doctor of Law.
2. Associate Professor Sulaymanov Odiljon Rabbimovich defended his dissertation on "Organizational legal issues of implementation of international standards on the independence of the judiciary" for the degree of Doctor of Law.
3. Senior lecturer Valijonov Daler Dilshodovich is supposed to defend his dissertation on the topic "International cooperation of the prosecutor's office of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the fight against prestige". The dissertation for the degree was held in the discussion of the department. It is currently on the verge of a scientific seminar discussion.
4. Senior lecturer Miruktamova Feruza Lutfullayevna is supposed to defend her dissertation on "International standards of juvenile justice". The dissertation was completed to obtain a degree. Now on the eve of the discussion of the department.
Besides, our other lecturers is conducting scientific and practical research on the specialty 12.00.10 - International Law within the framework of state scientific and technical programs, such as Gafurova Nozimakhon Eldarovna - "International legal framework for ensuring the right to health in the Republic of Uzbekistan";
Durmatov Azizjon Jumakulovich - "International legal aspects of ensuring the rule of law";
Binakulov Alijon Boli oglu – “International law on transplantation of human organs, tissues and cells”;
Rasulov Jurabek Abdusamievich - “Issues of implementation of international standards on termination of forced labor in the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan”;
Yusupova Faringiz Uktam qizi - “International legal aspects of ensuring women's reproductive rights within the right to health”;
Almosova Shahnoza Sobirovna - "Implementation of international legal standards for the protection of Geographical indications in the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan";
Gafurov Komron Eldarovich - "Improvement of international legal aspects of trade relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the People's Republic of China";
Miruktamova Feruza Lutfullayevna - "International standards of juvenile justice".
During 2020, the department have published:
- 6 monographs;
- 2 textbooks;
- 1 study guide;
- 65 scientific articles;
Scientific articles were published in 9 journals that are included in the scientific databases such as "Web of Science" and "Scopus". Also, 3 international scientific conferences and round tables were held.
