Our mission: The Department of Business law is one of the University’s leading departments, which conducts training and academic activities in the following areas: Business law, Corporate law, Competition law, Securities law, Investment law, E-Commerce Law, Comparative corporate law, Bankruptcy law.
We strive to create conditions for a full-fledged research on local and global business environment and more progressive practices applied in different legal regimes and develop regulatory documents for their implementation. To achieve this, we cooperate with a range of public and non-governmental organizations, including: the Ministry of justice, the Supreme Court, and various businesses, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Agency for the development of capital market, Antimonopoly Committee, several law enforcement agencies, and other universities in and outside the country. This enables us to provide students with a fundamental legal education and to involve them in academic, project and practical work.
Our tasks
Our Department supports the aspirations of University researchers and fulfills its mission through a number of tasks. We:
– conduct research and training activities in the following disciplines: Business law, Corporate law, Competition law, Securities law, Investment law, E-Commerce Law, Comparative corporate law, Bankruptcy law.
– develop practical skills for the application of norms in the field of business legislation;
– develop students’ comparative and critical thinking skills about disciplines;
– provide the young people with the opportunity to self-educate and apply knowledge in practice.

For postgraduates (Master’s program):

Research activity
Currently, the Department conducts fundamental research on the topic "Improving the theoretical and scientific-methodological foundations of systematization of business legislation: national and foreign experience". The research is carried out within the framework of public research and technical programs. Three members of the Department are directly involved in this project. 1 textbook, 1 monograph and about 100 academic articles have been published since the initiation of the project.
In 2018-2020, the Department published:
– 8 monographs;
– more than 80 academic articles, 7 of them have been published in the journals listed in "SCOPUS"
During this period:
– 3 international scientific conferences and round tables;
– 3 Republican scientific conferences and round tables have been organized by the department.
Department staff
The Department of Business law consists of highly qualified lecturers and experts in the field who constantly develop their knowledge and skills and conduct research activities in the areas of the Department. The Department currently has 22 teachers, 5 of them have a doctorate, and 6 of them are graduates of prestigious foreign universities. We involve lawyers and practitioners in the training process. This is how students hone their knowledge and skills in practice.
Members of the Department are the authors of 8 textbooks, 30 manuals, 11 monographs, 12 methodological manuals. 12 independent researchers and 2 basic doctoral students are also involved in the training and work process.

Our programs and projects
The department has business law circles: "Business law tutorial", “AchilovaLawSchool”, “LAWgical”. As part of the project, 15 talented undergraduate students conduct research on topical issues of business law, competition law and corporate law.
