An international conference on the theme “Current Issues of Constitutional Reforms and the Development of the Institution of Constitutional Review” was held in Tashkent.
The event was organized in honor of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The conference was attended by representatives of the Senate and the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Supreme Court, the Supreme Judicial Council, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Ministry of Justice, partners of the Constitutional Court, the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, as well as TSUL faculty members — Omonulla Mukhamejanov and Ikhtiyor Bekov.
In addition, the international conference brought together representatives from more than 10 foreign countries, including the chairpersons and judges of the constitutional courts of the Kingdom of Thailand, Indonesia, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, the Russian Federation, and the Republic of Belarus, along with over 30 experts and representatives of other international organizations.
At the conference, Professor Ikhtiyor Bekov, Head of the Department of Constitutional Law at TSUL, delivered a presentation on “Theoretical and Practical Issues of Harmonious Improvement of the Constitutional Justice System Based on Science and Education”.
