A summer school was organized in Bostanlyk for students of university legal clinics on the topic: “Fostering Integrity in Governance: Legal Education as a Tool for Anti-Corruption Reforms”. The initiative was launched by the Anti-Corruption Agency, the UNDP Office in Uzbekistan, and the European Union. The event was attended by representatives of various ministries and agencies, experts and specialists, as well as students, including volunteers from the TSUL Legal Clinic.
During the summer school, which was organized within the framework of the joint project “Strengthening the National Anti-Corruption Ecosystem in Uzbekistan,” interactive sessions were held on topics such as state anti-corruption policy, the use of open data, public oversight, gender issues, and international standards.
The session on “Impartiality, Ethics, and Integrity in Legal Practice” was conducted by Otabek Narziev, the head of the Legal Clinic at Tashkent State University of Law. The class, which analyzed ethical dilemmas, hidden biases, and situations related to professional ethics in legal practice, made a strong impression on the participants. Exercises based on real-life examples enabled students to connect theoretical knowledge with practical skills.
At the end of the summer school, participants developed personal action plans to combat corruption and were awarded certificates.
