A conference was held on the topic “Elections as a New Stage in Deepening Democratic Reforms and the Practical Implementation of the Updated Constitution”
The conference, organized as part of the Week of International Partnership Initiatives in Uzbekistan under the theme “New Uzbekistan: Development, Innovation, and Enlightenment,” saw the participation of both local experts and international scholars. Among the attendees were Professor Ik Hyeon Rhee from Mokwon University in South Korea, Professor Zholimbet Baishyev from Turan University in Kazakhstan, Director of the Turkish National Wealth Fund Association under the President of Türkiye, Director of Legal Affairs and Public Relations at the Istanbul Financial Center, Hasan Ali Kulak, Professor Abel Polese from Dublin University, Head of the Rule of Law Center at the University of Helsinki, Professor Raimundas Kalesnikas from Turiba University, Professor Patrik Olsson from Lund University in Sweden, Vice President for International Education at Kent University in the USA, Marcello Fantoni, and Professor Malgorzata Stvol from Gdańsk University.
During the conference, participants exchanged views on the constitutional and legal foundations of elections in the Republic of Uzbekistan and the role of legal reforms in strengthening the rule of law and human rights in the country.
