Issues of Improving the Legal Foundations of the Judiciary have been discussed
The Department of Courts, Law Enforcement, and Advocacy at Tashkent State University of Law organised an international scientific-practical conference on the topic "Improvement of the Legal Foundations of the Judiciary in the Republic of Uzbekistan".
The international conference was attended by industry experts from the USA, Slovenia, representatives of the chambers of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Higher Judicial Council, the Higher School of Judges under the Higher Judicial Council, the Tashkent City Court, Tashkent Regional Court, the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Institute for Parliamentary Studies under the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Anti-Corruption Agency, the Legal Qualification Improvement Center, and faculty members from TSUL, National University of Uzbekistan, the University of Public Security, the Academy of Law Enforcement, the Ministry of Internal Affairs Academy, and the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.
The conference addressed international standards of independent justice and the prospects for the digitalization of judicial activities, as well as international standards of independent justice and the experience of Europe and the USA in this regard. Other topics included the role of information and communication technologies in improving the judicial system, the effectiveness of justice, the preparation of candidates for judicial positions, retraining of judges and judicial staff, the improvement of their professional development system, and the selection, appointment, suspension, and termination of judicial powers, along with the enhancement of the legal framework for judicial disciplinary responsibility.
During the international conference, several proposals and recommendations were developed regarding the improvement of the judiciary.
