Department of Clinical Education Coordination

Our Motto: “The Legal Clinic — A School of Knowledge, Experience and Responsibility!”

Objective

The main objective of the Legal Clinic is to develop students’ professional and practical skills while contributing to the improvement of public legal awareness, legal culture and legal literacy.

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of the Legal Clinic are to:

develop students’ ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practice;

provide free and qualified legal assistance to the public;

promote public legal awareness, legal culture and legal literacy;

develop and improve clinical legal education;

establish effective cooperation with government bodies, non-governmental non-profit organisations and international organisations.

Projects, Clubs and Societies

The Legal Clinic’s activities focus on providing legal assistance to the public, developing students’ practical skills and promoting legal awareness.

The Clinic’s main areas of activity include:

receiving and reviewing citizens’ in-person and online enquiries, preparing and reviewing responses, and communicating the outcomes to applicants;

handling enquiries received through the Call Centre;

handling enquiries submitted through the “Huquq maktabi” (“School of Law”) mobile application;

organising and conducting off-site public consultations;

developing the Legal Clinic’s media activities;

preparing applications on behalf of the NGO “Mehr va oqibat” in response to reports of animal cruelty, in cooperation with the organisation;

implementing the “Monitoring of Accessibility Conditions” project in cooperation with the non-governmental non-profit organisation “Sharoit Plus”, aimed at monitoring the accessibility of public spaces for persons with disabilities;

organising masterclasses and training sessions with invited experts, as well as summer schools;

organising and holding student competitions, including “Best Student in Public Reception” and “Legal Zakovat”, along with other competitions and events.
