TSUL promotes the creation of Gafur Gulam

Tashkent State University of Law has established a special scholarship and badge named after Gafur Gulam

This was based on the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of August 24, 2020 "On measures to promote the creative heritage of famous writers and thinkers among young people and the effective use of the Writers’ Garden."

Based on the tasks set out in the resolution, the university is organizing to widely promote the creation of Gafur Gulam. For this purpose, a creative group consisting of some authorities and professor-teachers was formed. A plan of educational activities with appropriate content has been worked out.

According to Sherzod Pulatov, the head of the Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment of Tashkent State University of Law, book fairs, presentations of new works, screenings of feature and documentary films, various competitions, festivals, quizzes related to the creation of Gafur Gulam, and scientific and educational expeditions to the writer's residence have been planned during the year.

- We are adopting the House-Museum of Gafur Gulom, - added Sh. Pulatov. - Soon, a special room for Gafur Gulam will be established at the university and enriched with an exposition reflecting the life of our beloved poet and writer. We have recently launched the site www.gafurgulommerosi.uz. We have also taken the responsibility for the restoration of the statue of Gafur Gulam in the Writers' Garden complex. In the future, staging plays about the works of Gafur Gulam, preparing and publishing a book of memoirs about the writer, promoting his spiritual heritage abroad, teaching students the works of outstanding representatives of Uzbek literature are also planned.

From the current academic year, some amateur art students studying at the Tashkent State University of Law will be nominated for the "Ilhom" award on a competitive basis.

A special scholarship named after Gafur Gulam can be awarded to only one student from each faculty. Candidates will be selected from young writers who are active in reading and writing and who make a worthy contribution to the promotion of reading. They must pass a test in order to get this scholarship.

The Gafur Gulam badge is intended to award not only creative students, but also teachers who are interested in science and enlightenment. In this case, the winners will receive a one-time cash prize.
