An international online conference was held

The Department of Criminal Procedure Law and Criminalistics on the initiative and as part of the research work of the doctoral student Dilbar Chorieva held an international online conference on the topic held an international online conference on the topic "Ways of ensuring the realization of the rights of defender at pre-trial proceedings and the need for this investigative judge: for and against"

On May 7, 2020 at 15:00 a.m., through the Zoom application, an international online conference was held on the topic "Ways of ensuring the realization of the rights of defender at pre-trial proceedings and the need for this investigative judge: for and against" with the participation of representatives of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the Supreme Court, the Prosecutor's Office, the Chamber of Advocates of the Republic of Uzbekistan, doctoral students, researchers, representatives of the scientific community of Tashkent State Law University, as well as experts from Germany, Canada, Ukraine and international organizations.

During the conference, the participants discussed issues of ensuring the principle of competitiveness of the parties in pre-trial proceedings, the implementation by the parties of the prosecution and the defense of their procedural activity on equal terms,  the importance of the institution of an investigating judge, which takes place in the legislation and practice of foreign countries and serves to ensure the procedural capabilities of a defender,  the role of this institution in the practice of foreign countries, as well as other relevant problems in this sphere.

During the event, participants exchanged views, experts presented interesting and useful information. As a result of the conference, a number of recommendations were developed to increase the procedural rights and capabilities of a defender in pre-trial proceedings.
